Given the Governor’s “Stay at Home Order and Strategic Directions for North Carolina,” as well as the President’s COVID-19 Task Force’s recommendations, we will have online services only through April 30. Other gatherings at the church in April have been cancelled in keeping with the mass gatherings definition of no more than 10 people.

Watch for these opportunities to worship and study from home during these days of praying for our nation and world during this pandemic:

  • Sundays at 9:30 AM – FACEBOOK live broadcast as we meditate together on God’s Word (go to the FBC Facebook page) live from the heart of Shelby.  This service will also be posted on our Vimeo page and linked to Facebook by the afternoon should you miss it at 9:30 AM.
  • Sundays at 11:00 AM – Spectrum Cable Channel 9 television broadcast of our previous services.
  • Wednesdays — Watch for FACEBOOK Bible Studies with Dr. Canoy posted in the afternoon; 6:00 PM FBC Kids will meet on Facebook Live; 7:00 PM FBC Youth will meet via Carol Ann’s direction.
  • FBC KIDS and FBC YOUTH watch the youth and children Facebook pages throughout the week for encouraging words as well as youth and children REMIND 101 messages.
  • IF YOU DO NOT DO FACEBOOK:  You can always see the church Facebook page (and Twitter feed) even if you are not a regular Facebook user.  Just come to the homepage of the website and look to the top right of the page and click on the “f” (Facebook logo) and you will go right to the Church page.

Schedule Modifications until further notice include:

  • No ESL classes on Mondays.
  • No Wednesday activities: Fellowship Supper, Bible Study, FBC KIDS and FBC YOUTH, and all Rehearsals.
  • No Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts
  • Cancel the Volunteer Receptionists in the office.
  • Cancel/postpone face to face small group Bible Studies and Committee and Team meetings (unless essential and below the guidance of 10 in attendance).  Watch for teachers and chairs to arrange for zoom, email or kaya meetings and interactions
  • Mother’s Morning Out classes are cancelled.
  • Child Care Center is open for frontline responders.

Friday Feed the Hungry will provide food via bag lunches for the next few weeks.

Sunday School Classes and fellowship groups are encouraged to reach out to one another via phone calls, texts and emails to keep up with your community of believers during these days.

Worship through Giving:  Always know that our online giving portal is available at any time to receive your tithes and offerings.  Go to the homepage of our website ( and click on “Connect and Give” at the top right of the screen.

And remember, Jesus said, “In this world you will know trouble.  But, take heart!  I have overcome the world.”
