WAITING
By: Missy Smith

What if I told you today that you have to go to the grocery store with
your parents and wait with them in the long boring line? Not fun,
huh?  What if i said you could hang out with me today but you would
have to go with me and sit quietly through some really long boring
meetings? Even though we would enjoy our time together, long meetingsare NOT fun for adults but they are especially NOT fun for kids.

Neither one of these options would not be something that I would cal fun. Honestly, I would even say that they are BORING. What if I told that I
would give you a big surprise, like a brand new toy after you waited
patiently through these boring activities? The surprise would make the
waiting a little bit easier. You might even get so busy thinking about all
the fun you would have with the new toy that you would forget about
how bored you are.

Did you know that long ago, before Jesus was born, God’s people were
waiting for a Savior. They had hoped for many years that their Savior
would soon come and year after year He didn’t come. But in God’s perfect time and in God’s unlikely circumstances, Jesus came to be the Savior of
the world. Today, we have a great blessing because we know Jesus did
come and we know God’s promise of a Savior is true. God fulfilled HIS
promise of giving HIS people a Savior. His people just had to wait
patiently for HIM to do it.

Today, when you feel bored with waiting at home for this time of
isolation to end…I want you to remember that God is faithful to fulfill HIS promises. He will see you through this time and give you just what you
need and just when you need it.

Watch this video as a reminder of how God has kept HIS promises in the past.

Boredom Buster: Make a list today of 10 ways that God has provided for you in the last two weeks. Write your Bible verse from today on the
bottom of your list. Post this list somewhere you will see it often, as a
reminder that God is faithful to keep HIS promises to you.

Memory Verse: “Not one of the good promises which the LORD had made to the house of Israel failed; all came to pass.” Joshua 21:45

Prayer: Lord, thank you for how you provided your son, Jesus to be our
Savior. Help us to remember that YOU are the Promise Keeper and
always faithful to give us just what we need and just when we need it.
