Trusting the Father

Day 23 — September 13, 2018

By Guy Suttle

I had an upcoming medical test coming up and I was scared of what the results might be…

I was praying and reading the Gospel of John. The Gospel of John has a calming effect on me. I had been reading here for several days in addition to my daily prayers and other reading of God’s word. Early one morning, I was awoken by a sound that I can’t exactly put into words. A soft faint voice simply said trust the Lord.

That was it, the feared factor dropped and I just kept reminding myself to trust the Lord! The morning of the procedure Donna drove me to Charlotte and I was calm and at peace. The nurse asked me if I had done the proper preparation for the procedure. I told her “yes and I’ve been praying”. She smiled and said “that’s a good thing!” The test came back negative and we gave all the Glory to God!

Prayer is so very important in our relationship with the Father… may we keep praying!

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is Gods will for you in Christ Jesus.   1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
