Community, Compassion, Service
Encouraging everyone to know and follow Jesus Christ in their daily lives through prayer, Bible study and serving others is important at First Baptist Church. A variety of Sunday and weekday Bible study classes are available for both men and women.
The Men’s Ministry Team invites men to pray together weekly as brothers in Christ toward the Lord’s vision for life and service. Through Operation Inasmuch and other local missions endeavors, including the Friday Soup Kitchen, our men serve the Lord with gladness.
Our Deaf Sunday School Class is one of the most active and faithful groups in our church. During worship a sign-language interpreter serves to lead our hearing impaired members in worship. The signing is also visible via our Sunday morning television broadcast on Time Warner Cable Channel 9.
Woman’s Missionary Union organizes many of our ladies into circles for mission prayer, mission study and mission action. Sacred Friendships gathers ladies together for prayer and encouragement in our walk of faith. Periodic weekday Bible studies for women draw ladies together around the study of God’s word.
It has been said that the three plagues of older adults are loneliness, helplessness and boredom. We seek to provide multiple ways for our senior adult population to be involved and active through church activities, social events and traveling experiences.
We believe the Scripture is true that “the Lord himself set the members in the Body as it has pleased him.” (1 Cor. 12:18) That being so, as you are praying, has the Lord laid one of these ministry areas on your heart? We would love to talk with you about serving!
